Job Position: IT Consultant/Network Engineer

An IT consulting firm based in the Baton Rouge, LA area for 20 years that offers a variety of support and solution services for local, regional, and national clients. Our company specializes in providing effective and value-added solutions to the Small-Medium sized business market as well as Enterprise clients that require 24/7/365 Service Level Agreements. Job Description:
Perform basic to advanced network computer/device troubleshooting, including but not limited to rebuilding Server, Desktop, Laptop OS*s. Apply latest Service Packs, Windows Updates, and Software/Driver/Firmware Updates for Server, Desktop, Laptops on a case by case basis. Maintain system performance with system monitoring tools, fine tune and troubleshoot system Hardware/Software in an efficient and effective manner. Candidate must be proficient in removal of Spyware/Malware/Viruses threats. Perform basic to advanced Cisco network troubleshooting and device configurations for LAN/WAN/CAN wired and wireless networks.
Required Education/Certification(s):
- High School Diploma
- 4 year Bachelor*s Degree with 1 -2 years of Experience/Skills Requirement satisfied
or
- 2 year Associates Degree with 2-5 years of Experience/Skills Requirement satisfied
Required Experience/Skills:
1 - 2 years experience in Administering, Configuring, and Maintaining the following:
- Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010
- Microsoft Server 2000/2003/2008 with Active Directory, Terminal Services, Filesharing, and Print Services installed.
- Cisco Switching, Routing, VLANs, Adaptive Security Appliances, VPN Concentrators, Network Access Control, and Access Control List creation and documentation
- Various Backup Solutions and Methodologies (Veritas NetBackup, Symantec Backup Exec, CommVault, Data Domain, vRanger, Windows System Backup, B2D, etc.)
- Various Anti-Virus/Malware Protection Suites (SAV, SEP, MSSE, McAffee, MBAM, Trend Micro, etc.)
Preferred Experience/Skills:
1 - 2 years experience in Administering, Configuring, and Maintaining the following:
- Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage (Dell, EMC, HP, Compellant, etc.)
- Virtualization Methodologies (VMWare ESX/ESXi, XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V, etc.)
- VOIP Telephony
- Blackberry Enterprise Server, BIS, Active Sync, and additional Mobile Device administration software
Position Certification Preferences:
- Pass an exam on the MCITP Certification Track within 1-90 days
- Pass at least one CCNA Exam within 1-180 days of initial employment
Goals and Objectives:
- Maintain a positive attitude and work ethic during solution implementation for client.
- Assist in providing additional flexibility of support services for company technicians.
- Demonstrate a professional, approachable, and competent personality to any and all clients.
Travel:
This position requires approximately 20%-50% travel throughout our area of service in the Greater Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Travel expenses are reimbursed based on company guidelines.
Probationary/Training Period: First 30 days from initial start date

Salary is contingent upon candidates prior work experience, certifications, and qualifications. Company benefits and perks will be discussed during interview process.
